Do you Hear what I hear?
The sound check is indeed a crucial part of any rehearsal, and even more so of any performance.  It determines how well you will be able to play for the rest of your time on stage.  And yet, when asked to define a sound check, most of us find ourselves clammering for words.  What exactly is it?  What is the purpose?  What do we gain from it?  This month's article dispels the confusion and gives some great suggestions on how to conduct a sound check quickly and effectively.

"Make Your Music Count"

This month we bring you an article written by best selling author and pastor Rick Warren.  His Church in California has exploded and continues to grow as he pursues every area of ministry with a specific purpose.  He recently wrote an interesting expository on www.pastors.com about his views on music in the church.  We present this not as absolute truth, but challenge you to consider some of his suggestions.  We found ourselves re-evaluating our views on music and church.  We trust you will be inspired by this short article.

Podcast Update: "Building Blocks (part 3)"

We continue our series on "Building Blocks of a Worship Team" by presenting you Part 3.  We cover Rank and Roll of each instrument as well as musical and spiritual unity in the band.  Be sure and subscribe to the VM podcast to get all the parts.  You wont want to miss one of them.

"I would highly recommend Nathan and Lisa.  The reason why this is; no matter how long you have played your instrument, sang, ran audio/video, you never learn it and know it all.  Nathan's knowledge and years of experience and practical wisdom would be beneficial to any worship team, anywhere!"

"
The most helpful (it all was!) was probably the breakdown of being disciplined, knowing how to stay in your 'safe zone' how to work with the other musicians.
The instruction about proper order, both musically and in spiritual terms was great"

"As a student in the Rhema School of Worship, I had the privilege of learning under the teaching gift of Nathan Veer.   He has both the heart and the ability to instruct students at all levels of understanding, from beginners in music ministry, to those with extensive experience.  I highly recommend both Nathan and Lisa as "instruments" God will use to bless your church!"

"Nathan and Lisa are two quality people with a wealth of ministry experience.  They can minister to your congregation, help your office staff, train your
worship team or help your church out technically.  You won't be disappointed."

"I met Nathan and Lisa Veer through their involvement at The Church of the Open Door in Lorrach, Germany.  They are two of the most cheerful and helpful people I have met; always ready to serve and help with a challenge.  Both are always good fun to work with, and have a clear understanding of the different helps gifts that work together for the ministering of the Gospel."
